There is a funny photo making the rounds of the deaf internet via email. It appears to be a photo of one of those highway announcement signs, saying
“DEAF DRIVER
NO SIDEKICK T-MOBILE
WATCH OUT”

The implications of having a real sign say this are amazing. Why single out deaf drivers? Not all deaf drivers have a Sidekick. There are worse drivers out there who are jabbering on their cell phones, drinking coffee, doing their makeup, reading their newspapers, etc.!!!
Before you all start sending the NAD, or even Ridor himself, emails with your scathing comments about being discriminated against, hoping that the deaf blogosphere will explode with a tremendous backlash . . . relax.
This picture is a fake. A hint can be found in the bad wording used to describe the pager - it’s actually T-Mobile Sidekick, not the other way around. The second clue is in the hard to discern URL embedded in the photo. This leads to this website by Atom Smasher.
Atom Smasher offers a fun way to autogenerate a photo with your custom message on the highway announcement sign. Hehehe. Have fun, but don’t believe everything you see via email! ![]()
